Lamberton Conservatory

Lisa and Marcus

Rochester, NY

In the midst of the huge ferns and little turtles of the botanical garden, Lisa and Marcus married. You would never guess that it was actually December and 36 degrees outside. Inside the Lamberton Conservatory here in Rochester, NY, it was warm and cozy… perfect if you are wanting a small venue for an intimate wedding or elopement. Just make sure your photographer’s lens doesn’t fog up in the tropical room… I may or may not know from experience.

(Also, If you are looking for other small, intimate wedding venues around Rochester, check out my venue guide!)

Held later in the afternoon, it was the perfect time for their ceremony. With the Conservatory closing at 4 pm, Lisa and Marcus were able to have the venue to themselves and their closest friends and family. (Parking along the street is also better at that time as the crowds tend to disperse, freeing up space.) After they gathered in front of the small bridge under the middle atrium and said their I do’s.

An added benefit of having your intimate wedding at the Conservatory is the beauty of Highland Park that surrounds it. Eager to see each other, Lisa and Marcus first met in the park to spend a few moments together and we were able to capture a few portraits during golden hour – the last hour of the day in which the light tends to best for photography.
